This weekend Mila came up to camp for the first time. I was so excited to show her around. She is the 6th generation in our family to be able to enjoy it. Pierre Lodge was build as a hunting cabin by my great-great-grandfather and his sons. I grew up spending the summers on the lake. (Forth Lake in the Fulton Chain of Lakes)

I know I haven't written in a while. I like photo blogs better, anywho. We have been doing normal things. The weekend was filled with trying to get my hair fixed, lots of cooking, me hating cooking, church, watching my awesome siblings sing at church. My hair is red, bright red. I was very concerned last week, the second day of the new hair I went to an customer appreciation event with Michio for Benchmark, it was fun seeing the looks and after I won a raffle (for a gel computer things, and MIchio won a womans laptop bag) they requested I sing a little song. *sigh* I did indeed match the clowns.
Mila is cralwing like a mad woman. It is sweet watching her follow us from room to room, and hear her coming.

After trying out different cosmetics, and heath and beauty items over the years, so far these are my favs.

Face
I am acne pron, and have sensitive skin. I am careful not to use any products that contain alcohol which is a drying agent. (dries skin, opens pores, thus letting dirt in that can cause blemishes) Unfortunately it is in most cleansers, creams, and lotions.

Foundation

Bare Millerals (I bought this for my wedding, and fell in love. It caused no adverse affects on my face! I purchase on ebay)

Eyes

Prep, Neutrogena liquid foundation. Any water base foundation will do, the purpose is to make a barrerer between the oils of your eye lid and makeup.
M.A.C. eye liner- They contain a lot of pigment, and so do not fade throughout the day.
L'Oreal Paris HIP (High Intensity Pigments) name says it all... they last all day and have many awesome color combos.
Cover Girl Last Blast Love love love this mascara, the brush catches every lash and make them twice as thick.

So I have been doing a lot of reading about cosmetics, and health and beauty in general, and fashion this week. Just for fun I will pass it all along. The following are not proven by my testing yet. I will give my personal review soon. At home face masks 2 equal parts baking soda, and cetaphil. Washes away dead skin without drying out your face. Mix 2 egg whites, pat on face, leave for <10> Bath Epsom salt. The benefits are plentiful.

Hot water draws toxins out of the body to the skin’s surface, and while the water cools it pulls toxins from the skin, according to Naturopath Dr. Hazel Parcells. Epsom salts augment this detoxification by causing you to sweat. Other salts—all highly alkaline and cleansing—used in baths include sea salt, baking soda, clay, and Dead Sea salts.

Basic Salt Soak Bath Formula
Minerals and salts make the bath water feel silky and leave your skin cleansed and soft.

1 cup sea salts
2 cups baking soda
1 cup Epsom salts
1 to 2 tablespoons glycerin per bath

Foot soak: Soothe aches, remove odors and soften rough skin with a foot soak. Add 1/2 cup of epsom salt to a large pan of warm water. Soak feet for as long as it feels right. Rinse and dry.

Soak sprains and bruises: Epsom salt will reduce the swelling of sprains and bruises. Add 2 cups epsom salt to a warm bath, and soak.

Splinter remover: Soak in epsom salt, it will draw out the splinter.

Face cleaner: To clean your face at night, mix a half-teaspoon of epsom salt with your regular cleansing cream. Just massage into skin and rinse with cold water.

Homemade skin mask: Apply the mask to damp skin. For normal to oily skin, mix 1 tablespoon of cognac, 1 egg, 1/4 cup of non-fat dry milk, the juice of 1 lemon, and a half-teaspoon of epsom salt. For normal to dry skin, mix 1/4 cup of grated carrot, 1 1/2 teaspoons of mayonnaise and a half-teaspoon of epsom salt.

Skin exfoliator: Massage handfuls of epsom salt over your wet skin, starting with your feet and continuing up towards the face. Have a bath to rinse.

Hair volumizer: Combine equal parts of deep conditioner and epsom salt. Warm in a pan. Work the warm mixture through your hair and leave on for 20 minutes. Rinse.

Week of visitation

This week has been a busy one. We are getting together with at lot of different folk, it is invigorating! Some of Michio's best friends are coming to/are here Syracuse this week to get together, meet Mila, etc. I enjoy them, and look forward to getting to know them more. There are a very motivated, smart group of people.

On another note, I took Mila for a couple walks today, the nicest of the week to come. Spent most of our day outdoors. Here are some photos from my phone.
